Private Residence Investigation - Kenosha, WI (central)
When: July 20, 2008 @ 11:00 p.m.
Who went: C. Shatkins, C. Ricard, & J. Desotell
Weather: 70 degrees & humid:
Reason for the investigation: We were contacted via telephone and email from a resident in Kenosha whose home has reported paranormal activity. The list of phenomena experienced by the family include: someone "invisible" who walks up and down the basement stairs and through the main level foyer late at night, lights turning on and in some cases staying on to the point where the homeowner had to go turn them off, a window that has opened up half-way after being closed and locked up tight for the night, a reported apparition on an older male who has made an appearance in two of the bedrooms in the house. The family wanted to contact a priest to have the home blessed, but decided to call a paranormal group in before the home was blessed, to see if any activity could be documented.
The footage collected produced a couple of things which could not be explained. The ending result of the evening's investigation, however, remains inconclusive. Further investigation is needed to definately determine whether the residence is haunted.
*Note - After our investigation, the home was indeed blessed by a priest, but unfortunately, that same night, activity resumed right away. An unseen presence spoke loudly to the client's fiance, and said to him "What are you doing?".

The Mysterious Tombstone Project
When: October 16th, 2007 @ 7:00 p.m. (Kenosha, Wisconsin)
Who went: C. Shatkins, P. Claeys, C. Ricard, J. Desotell, and A. Dugan.
Weather: Cool, humid, still, in the mid 60's.
Reason for the investigation: While excavating their backyard for a nursery, a couple found a fully intact headstone of a 22-year old woman buried a few inches under the ground dating back to 1902. Also found on the property was possible evidence of other markers. Property records did show that the family owned and lived on the property around the turn of the century until the late 1960's, but the exact name of the person listed on the headstone could not be found in any property, internet or library researches. The only paranormal experiences the couple reported was seeing the ghost of one of their deceased pet cats, who's also buried in the backyard, walking across the kitchen floor. During our investigation, a single orb was photographed hovering over the headstone. Nothing else was recorded or experienced, other than the feeling that "something" was there and that she was at peace.

Friday the 13th "Ghost Walk"
When: Friday, July 13, 2007 (Kenosha, Wisconsin)
Who went: R. Shaktins, C. Shatkins, C. Ricard, J. Desotell, P. Claeys, and A. Claeys.
Weather: Cool and calm.
Reason for the investigation: Up until the last minute we were hoping to obtain the proper permissions to conduct a ghost hunt in a well known haunted cemetery in the surrounding area, but were unable to obtain such permissions, nor have they ever replied up to the date of this report. This was our group's plan B for the night. If anything else, just wanted to take a walk and maybe get some good photos. Mission was accomplished, it turned out to be fun.

St. Scholastica Cemetery
When: June 2, 2007 @ 11:30 p.m.
Who went: R. Shatkins, C. Shatkins, and P. Claeys
Weather: cool, but balmy
Reason for the investigation: This cemetery very near before mentioned graveyard. As we were leaving, we were approached by law enforcement, who wanted to know what we were doing in there. When we explained to him who we were and what we were trying to do, he asked just to move our car so he could get out, and said that we may carry on. Nice guy.

The investigators present that night heard a “wail” and a “screech”. Another investigator heard the distinct sound of a bell ringing. (like an old telephone would ring, she stated). We were there approximately an hour, when we were approached by Kenosha Police, and they explained to us that we had to leave. The neighbors are very protective of this cemetery. Click HERE to hear someone who was not us say "bye" and then have the two-way radio report with a beep/squelch. Also, it was that moment when Carrie heard the bells. (Just for fun, click here to hear Scary Perry say "Cops, Cops!" moments before we were busted. This also had been his first investigation with us, and I repeat - We Do Not Do This Anymore... lol.)

Rhode Opera House (Rhode Center for the Arts)
When: Friday, October 13, 2006 @ 8:00 p.m. (Kenosha, Wisconsin)
Who went: R Shatkins, C. Shatkins, and 8 others from local paranormal groups.
Weather: Bitter cold and windy.
Reason for the investigation: Reports of full bodied apparitions, disembodied voices, and sometimes dark lurking figures are all reported from within this enchanting theater of days gone by. Approximately half of the investigators present had experiences while on the upper levels of the backstage area, particularly near a catwalk area, and near the dressing and costume rooms. This writer's two way radio went rang unexplainably, when the other investigator was within feet of the other, and did not push the "call" button. This happened a couple of times within the concession stand area. Two first time investigators heard what was described as "crunchy footsteps" in before mentioned costume area. Results were inconclusive, due to the number of persons roaming the building that night, would love to return and investigate, under a bit more controlled environment next time. Members of The Lakeside Players, the theater group who owns the building, could not have been more hospitable and gracious to all of us present that night.

The Paranormal Investigators of Kenosha, WI strongly urges would be ghost hunters to not trespass into places where you have not obtained permission to enter. Not only can it be dangerous, it can be costly, if you are caught by law enforcement, and issued a citation.
